I started my radio career at the tender age of 8 in 1996. Our family had a new born and I completed my own broadcast over the baby monitor which I nicked from my screaming brother. My first audience were my Nan, Dad and Mum in the lounge as I broadcast from my bedroom using a cd player and my voice!

As my interest in radio strengthened I presented various shows at numerous internet stations. In 2004 completed work experience at Wire Fm in Warrington as part of a the governments compulsory scheme (work placement) after the 2 weeks at wire I realised that radio was all I wanted to do. I hassled and begged the boss at wire until a year later I was taken on board as tea maker and a general dog’s body in the production department. It was only on my first day did my boss say “do ya fancy doing a bit of tech opping” “Of course” I said not knowing that he needed me that night!

So thrown into the deep end I was and After finding my feet and building a reputation for a safe and reliable tech op I found myself doing jobs at Wish FM in Wigan and Juice FM in Liverpool. I also completed a Presenter Masterclass at Galaxy Manchester to gain some experience in the studio which I found very useful and built up some brilliant contacts.

My first real on air experience came when I presented the evening show at Cheshire FM (RSL) back in April 2006.

This was great and gave me lots of vast experience. The whole 4 weeks were brilliant and there was a real good team which I have around my now. My big FM gig came in December 2006 where Wire FM offered me the job of covering the Sunday breakfast show for 10 weeks. I settled in quite quickly although I didn’t think I was a morning person! From that gave me cover shows at wire such as the evening show and the Saturday sports show.

As Cheshire FM developed I took the Playout system under my wing and devoted my time to getting the songs onto the system. It was then that I was offered the job of Station Producer which I grabbed with 2 hands! My job now is to look after the On-Air side of Cheshire FM and to make sure what you hear coming out of your radio is good quality programming.

Now you will find me in the office frantically making sure Cheshire FM sound fantastic every day.

Out of the studio I love to go out and meet new people. Stockton Heath is one of my favourite watering holes with also the great restaurants. I also love my football and support the best Red Team in Manchester! Food wise I am into anything that tastes great but you can’t go wrong with a good Indian!
